March 3, 2021
The Network participated in the launch of the Global BIM Summit. Representatives from Argentina, Chile, Colombia have participated in the event held during the month of March of the year 2021. The Event brought together representatives of the public sector and investors to discuss the national and regional BIM initiatives that are accelerating the digital transformation of the sector. The opportunity that digitization represents for governments and industry was discussed; and how we can collaborate as a Global Network to foster inclusive growth and drive the shared benefits of an open digital construction sector. Public sector and multilateral representatives leading BIM initiatives around the world participated to discuss convergence and global collaboration. This initiative gave rise to the GLOBAL BIM Network, an organization made up of the EU BIM Working Group, the UK Prosperity Funded Global Infrastructure Program and the international CDBB programme; Regional BIM Symposia of Singapore, the Inter-American Development Bank and the BIM Network of Latin American Governments in Latin America. Associations have stimulated national BIM programs and regional initiatives that promote the use of digital in the public and private sectors, aligned with a common language and common benefits. The Network is primarily for representatives of the public sector, multilateral organizations and infrastructure funders to promote knowledge and capacity of national policies and programs. It will connect members working on similar developments in different parts of the world with similar challenges to share knowledge, resources, project results and lessons learned. The GOB LATAM BIM Network is part of the steering committee, along with Argentina, Chile and Colombia.
